Hello Everyone, welcome back to Floranze’s World. I have mentioned in my New Year Resolution that I will start the happiness project, blogging every month about things that make my happy. I have decided to start this little project to express my gratitude.
On the first week of January, we celebrated sun’s birthday. We had Korean BBQ and it feels great to be able to gather with friends from high school. We talked about the old days from high school and such. Another friend had also relocated to Melbourne from Queensland which is amazing! “A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.”-Unknown.
I attended a seminar on the second week of January on a Sunday. I feel pumped learning new skills and knowledge in areas that I am interested in. In addition, I feel great learning from some experienced gurus specialising in that area as their stories inspired me to become a better person. I have also decided to attend a seminar at least once a month in areas that interests me so I can gain more knowledge. In short, goal planning and putting them in actions is essential. “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”-Benjamin Franklin.
The main highlight of the third week of January is meeting friends. I have met Viv, a dear colleague whom I have worked with in Sydney years ago. She is a very kind girl with a big heart. She spread positivity everywhere she goes. Viv has inspired me in a lot of positive ways. I am blessed to have a friend like her. Even though we seldom meet but it feels like I have known Viv for centuries. We also went out for some nice steak on a Sunday with our housemate who is always busy at work. We found a mutual off day and the dinner went very well.
The last week of January of 2017 is all about feasting as we celebrate Australia Day and Chinese New Year. We celebrated Australia Day with BBQ in the park with my husband’s uni mates. I can see that they have enjoyed the day very much with good food and good people. I have also make some new friends and that was amazing. I do feel a bit strange as most of them are doing engineering, IT, finance and I am the only one working in healthcare. Anyhow, it is always good to meet and talk to friends working in different areas. We had reunion dinner at a famous Peking Duck restaurant in Box Hill South and that was great. It always good to catch up with friends over great food. We all had a wonderful time. On the first day of Chinese New Year, we went to the northern suburb to visit friend’s place. We were served with the traditional malaysian chinese new year cookies and Kuih Lapis, the excitement!!! Dinner was at my husband’s Uni friend’s place. Em cooked so well to the point that I have recently found my new role and that is to finish whatever that was served. I met Olive (Em’s dog) for the first time and she is so cute.On the second day of CNY, we had a quick drink with M who relocated to Melbourne and had dinner at another friend’s house in Carlton. In short, I have to start detoxing and eating clean from today onwards.
